Safari is a Swahili word meaning to travel, or a journey
The word safari conjures up evocative images of vast savannahs dotted with wildlife, sundowners with a G&T in hand against the African sky and tales of tracking leopard and elephant and recounting stories of the day around the camp fire. Africa offers so many unique and wonderful experiences from quad biking in the Namib desert to navigating the channels of the Okavango Delta in a tiny mokoro boat, or from meeting our ancient ancestors, the mountain gorilla in the equatorial forests to trekking with camels together with traditional tribes in Northern Kenya. It’s impossible to sum up the African safari in one sentence, except to go back to the origin of the word itself; each and every trip will promise to take you on a journey, that will doubtless leave you every time wanting to come back for more.
